GTA 6: Take-Two CEO explains why the game is taking so long to release

Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games are expected to launch the sixth edition of the popular open-world title Grand Theft Auto at the end of 2024. It has already been more than nine years since the last instalment of the franchise (GTA 5) was released and some fans are impatient about the release of GTA 6. Meanwhile, the creators of the game have rolled out several updates for GTA 5 and have also remastered the older titles in the franchise, but that didn’t prove to be enough for the fans.
Even after tackling a massive leak, the game’s creators have assured that GTA 6’s development is going well but fans have to wait for some more time to get their hands on the upcoming title. According to a report by Comicbook.com, at a recent investor call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has also explained why the company is taking so long to develop the game.

The reason for the delay
At the investor call, Take-Two’s CEO explained that it is better to delay the game than make it a failure. Zelnick discussed how the company was hit with lower sales in this fiscal year and also acknowledged the importance of waiting to release games until the developers are sure about their quality.
He even mentioned that the company has experienced delays with other titles in the past but the final results have always been worth the wait. The final versions of all the games from the studio have always offered improved experiences that have overshadowed the wait time for each title. Zelnick hopes that it will be the same with GTA 6.

Fans might get a little impatient by waiting for the upcoming game but if the company releases the game in an unfinished state, none of the fans will be happy with the title. Hopefully, this delay will ultimately offer an improved experience for the fans who are tired of waiting for GTA 6. The title will release only when Take-Two and Rockstar Games are satisfied with the game’s state.
