Harry Kane row erupts as he’s warned he may face World Cup ban over OneLove armband | Football | Sport
The FA confirmed skipper Kane would wear the OneLove captain’s armband back in September. The OneLove armbands will promote diversity, inclusion and anti-discrimination in Qatar, where same-sex relationships and the promotion of such relationships are criminalised in the Middle East country with the threat of jail time.
Meanwhile, manager Gareth Southgate confirmed England players will take the knee before today’s game and during the World Cup.
“We have discussed taking the knee, we feel we should,” Southgate said. “We feel it’s a strong statement that will go around the world, in particular for young people to see that inclusivity is important.”
