Harry Styles was ‘overwhelmed’ after beating One Direction fame | Music | Entertainment
One Direction fans were utterly devastated when they announced they would be breaking up for good back in 2016. Since then, each of the members has begun releasing solo albums to elongate their success.
Without a doubt, the most successful singer to date is Harry Styles, who recently released his third solo album, Harry’s House.
But after its release, he found himself needing to take a minute to assess himself as his success grew.
Styles spoke candidly about his experiences on stages around the world over the past few months.
This year, he has embarked on a stadium tour to promote Harry’s House. He travelled to dozens of countries and played to millions of people.
He revealed that he usually finished his performances with the track “Kiwi” to round off the experience he calls his live shows.
But on one occasion in May, in New York City, he finished his set by playing his 3x platinum single “As It Was” for a second time.
And the crowd’s reaction left him stunned.
Styles’ crowd “exploded” in a way even he had “never experienced”.
So much so that he was left feeling a little raw.
“We came offstage,” he recalled. “And I went into my dressing room and just wanted to sit by myself for a minute.
He added: “I think there was something about it where I was … not terrified, but I just needed a minute. Because I wasn’t sure what it was. Just that the energy felt insane.”
He noted how this reaction dwarfed what he had already seen in One Direction.

Rumours have been rampant over the past few years about the possibility of a One Direction reunion.
Currently, Ladbrokes have given a 1D get together the unlikely odds of 5/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s bad news for Directioners with the band’s chances of reuniting any time soon taking another hit. We’re not ruling out a comeback by any stretch, but with schedules all over the place, we’d be baffled if the lads took to the stage together in the next 12 months.”
But a comeback for Styles could expand his fame even more.
With that said, Styles should get used to experiencing new reactions from his fandom, especially as he is just about to release two films in cinemas this year.
By December, Styles would have starred in the new movies Don’t Worry Darling and My Policeman.
This fact alone is something he still struggles to comprehend.
Styles said: “Everything in my life has felt like a bonus since X-Factor. Get on TV and sing. I never expected and never thought that would happen.”
