Today, A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton gave fans an update about her move into her new home. The 40-year-old shared a picture of her smiling proudly as she sat on her stairs for the first time without scaffoling being in her way.

The property expert was casually dressed in grey leggings, a black top, trains and a leather jacket as she posed for the snap.

In view of her 65,000 followers, she wrote: “What a journey.

“It hasn’t been easy and it hasn’t been stress free (it still isn’t), but I no longer have to climb scaffolding to go upstairs because the first stage of my staircase installation is complete! BIG THANKS to an incredible build team.”

She went on to say that some of the rooms had been plastered and that her fireplace and family bathroom will be tiled next week.

She wrote: “I did have a bit of a panic when I walked through the front door (even though I have renovated a fair few properties) because although my brilliant build time have done SO MUCH, it’s still a complete building site and i’m mindful of my budget and the rising costs of everything!

“Renovating/building houses can be very stressful but when you look back at the finished product it is so rewarding and even if I can’t complete all of the interiors I will make sure the house is habitable!”

The host embarked on the project back in March following her split from her husband.

The former couple were together for 13 years and share two children together; Tahlia, seven, and Rocco, eight.

Laura first shared the news of her separation back in January, admitting it “wasn’t something she ever thought she’d be saying”.

She added: “Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time.”

Alongside her message, she shared an image which read: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

A Place In The Sun continues tomorrow at 3pm on Channel 4.
