Ajay Devgn turns a year older today, but he hasn’t got the time to take it easy. He is preoccupied with the post-production of his third directorial venture, Runway 34, which releases on the upcoming Eid weekend . So much so that his mother Veena Devgan will be overseeing the puja rituals at his old office which has been recently renovated. Moreover, with the Chaitra Navratra beginning today, AJ, as he’s affectionately called by friends, will apparently be fasting once a day and eating only vegetarian fare. He doesn’t like cutting cakes, so his kids could be cutting one at home later in the day. The last time he was cornered into cutting a cake was when the trailer of De De Pyaar De was launched on his 50th birthday in 2019.
Vroom time again!
It appears as if John Abraham has been bitten by the writing bug. The actor, who has produced Attack Part 1 that released yesterday, has also written the story of the action thriller. Now, John is shifting his focus to his passion for fast bikes. Amongst one of the first actors to do a bike-based action thriller, Dhoom (2004), he is planning a movie on his favourite subject. The actor-producer has revealed that he is writing the story of a bike-racing film, which he plans to start in the middle of next year. Time to open the throttle and go vroom vroom once again.
New screen jodi in town?
Hansika Motwani, who hasn’t been seen in a Hindi film in ages, was recently spotted on a set with Sidharth Malhotra. A big star in the south, she apparently made a quick trip to Mumbai for a shoot with the Mission Majnu actor. While everything about this secret project is being kept under wraps, we managed to sneak a behind-the-scenes picture of Sidharth and Hansika. Randhir dismisses Ranbir’s claims
Randhir Kapoor has been making news after Ranbir Kapoor said in a recent interview that his uncle is going through the early stages of dementia. Now, the chacha has rubbished his bhatija’s revelations. Asserting that he is perfectly fine, he added that he had got COVID last April. When probed why his nephew would make such claims, Randhir maintained it is Ranbir’s wish and that he is entitled to say what he wants. Strange, no?
High heels and gender equality
Arjun Kapoor marked six years of Ki & Ka by recreating his high-heels look. “I want to tell the world that there is a lot of work to be done for us to be a society that champions women to move forward and achieve their dreams,” he wrote, sharing a clip of himself sporting red heels. He stated that the film will always be special for him because he got to explore a subject that made a statement on what gender equality should ideally mean in today’s day and age. Thanking director R Balki for trusting him with the role of a house-husband and a strong pillar of support to the working-wife essayed by Kareena Kapoor Khan, he added, “It should also serve as a reminder to men that no work should be seen through the lens of gender. We are all equals. Let’s strive to achieve this at all times.”
On a shooting spree
Back in town after wrapping up Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan will soon resume filming his next, with south director Atlee. The actor-producer, who had shot a few days in February for the yet-untitled film, has a 10-day spell in Mumbai. The set has already been built in Film City for this schedule, in which he will be joined by Sanya Malhotra and south actor Nayanthara. The three actors will shoot some critical and dramatic scenes. After completing this shoot, he will begin his film with Rajkumar Hirani in mid-April. Apparently, Taapsee Pannu is playing his leading lady in the social comedy, but there’s no official confirmation about it.
The name game
Over two months since Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas welcomed their daughter, they are yet to finalise her name. Apparently, they haven’t come across one that is unique, meaningful and touches their hearts. She wants a name that has a mix of both their cultures.
Family bonding
Tara Sutaria, who has been dating Aadar Jain over the past two years, seems to have endeared herself to the Kapoor and Jain families. The Heropanti 2 actor was recently photographed attending a special screening of the late Rishi Kapoor’s swansong, Sharmaji Namkeen, held for the Kapoors. In a picture captioned ‘family’ by Karisma Kapoor, Tara can be seen bonding with the women — Rima Jain (Aadar and Armaan’s mother), Anissa (Armaan’s wife), Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma and Babita during a get-together at home.
