Hrithik Roshan is known to be particular about his exercise regimen, even when he is not shooting. So it’s not surprising that he carries his gym equipment when he travels for outdoor shoots. Given that he was travelling to Assam to film his next, Fighter, which also marks his reunion with director Siddharth Anand after Bang Bang, he ensured that his equipment accompanied him. He transported machines like the lat pull down, preacher curl, leg extension, rowing machine, squat rack, and leg press. We hear, Duggu left his gym machines at the Air Force officer’s mess after wrapping the shoot, as a gift. The actor plays an Air Force pilot in the aviation thriller. “In a way, it was also Hrithik’s way of thanking the officers who sacrifice their all for the country and her people,” a source has said. 

Fire scare  

The team of Sanjay Dutt’s next production, The Virgin Tree, was in for a shock recently. Mouni Roy was shooting her scene when the camera’s light busted, triggering a fire accident. Filming was immediately halted and the fire brigade was called to douse the fire. Fortunately, no one was hurt on the location. However, about 25 per cent of the set got damaged. Reportedly, filming will resume in the first week of January. 

Festive banter 

Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon bumped into each other on a flight recently. She shared a selfie with him on social media, and captioned it, “KS and SK”. Giving a dekko of their in-flight experience, Kriti dropped a message for Shahid, saying, “My way of wishing Merry Christmas.” He responded by sharing another image about their bonding, and wrote,  “When you have a really annoying over-enthusiastic co-passenger.”

Buenas Dias, Mexico 

Bhumi Pednekar has had a busy year with back-to-back shoots. With Govinda Naam Mera, her last offering for 2022, streaming on OTT, she is now holidaying in Mexico. What makes this an interesting vacation for the actor is that apart from giving her space to unwind and relax, it also gives her an opportunity to spend quality time with her friends who she hasn’t met due to her packed date-dairy. Bhumi, who celebrated Christmas in the North American country, will return to the bay after ringing in the New Year, to resume work on her movies.

Recreating history 

Bobby Deol, who is making the most of his second innings in front of the camera, has forayed into south cinema. He plays Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in director Krish Jagarlamudi’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu (HHVM), which stars Pawan Kalyan and Nidhhi Agerwal in lead roles. The actor, who has begun filming the historical drama, enthuses, “I always wanted to work in the South industry and was waiting for an opportunity which would excite me. It is great to be associated with such a fabulous team.”

Pankaj’s new challenge 

On the occasion of late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 98th birth anniversary, the makers of Main Atal Hoon unveiled Pankaj Tripathi’s first look in the biopic. National Award-winning director Ravi Jadhav is helming the film based on author Ullekh NP’s bestseller, The Untold Vajpayee: Politician and Paradox. Emotional about playing the poet PM on screen, Pankaj tweeted, “I know that I must work on my personality with austerity to make Atal ji’s personality come true on screen. I have firm faith that I will be able to do justice to my new role with enthusiasm and morale.” The film is being readied for a December 2023 release. 

House khaas 

Kajol and Tanishaa Mukerji presented mother Tanuja with the new avatar of her Lonavla home. The veteran actor was surprised to see that her doting daughters had even put up a ribbon for her to cut before inaugurating her refurbished holiday home. Sharing a video from the special moment, Tanishaa wrote on social media, “And so we finished mom’s house in Lonavla and showed it to her after eight months of keeping her away (sic).” Fans of the actors wished them good fortune on the networking platform.
