Have you heard? Same same, but different?

Everyone is congratulating Shanaya Kapoor, who is set to make her Bollywood debut with director Shashank Khaitan’s Bedhadak that also stars newbies Lakshya and Gurfateh Singh Pirzada. But the film’s announcement left us wondering about the fate of Dono Mile Iss Tarah. Let’s quickly jog your memory: Khaitan’s Dono Mile Iss Tarah, featuring the three newcomers, was slated to go on floors last July, but was deferred due to the pandemic. Last December, the project got pushed further when Shanaya tested positive for COVID-19. An industry source says that with the film slated to be shot overseas, the logistics and budget were not working out. So, the bosses at Dharma Productions apparently aborted the plan, and opted for a commercially feasible subject. Guess Dono Mile Iss Tarah can be made later, when the three actors become stars in their own right.

Remembering Sushant

The late Sushant Singh Rajput’s love for astronomy was well-known. In memory of the actor, the US-based Luna Society International recently announced that they will celebrate his birth anniversary in 2023 as ‘Sushant Moon’. Interestingly, his birth anniversary on January 21 will coincide with the first New Moon of 2023. It is considered a special day as the moon will be at its closest distance to Earth. By observing the day as Sushant Moon, the organisation aims to celebrate the life of the actor-space enthusiast.

Celebrating Rishi Kapoor

Sharmaji Namkeen is a special film for the Kapoor clan — after all, the comedy marks Rishi Kapoor’s  last offering before his demise in April 2020. Ahead of the film’s release, the makers hosted a special preview for the Kapoors on Wednesday. It was a family affair as Ranbir and Neetu Kapoor were joined by Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, husband Bharat and their daughter Samaira at the screening. Ranbir’s actor-girlfriend Alia Bhatt, who shares a deep bond with the khandaan, was also in attendance as were Rima Jain, Aadar Jain, Kunal Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Shweta Bachchan-Nanda. After Rishi’s demise, senior actor Paresh Rawal had stepped in to complete his portions for the  Hitesh Bhatia-directed venture.

No break-up here!

Short-lived love stories are nothing new in Bollywood.  Yesterday, rumours were rife that new lovebirds Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat were calling it quits as they were “clashing on too many things”. The Black Widows actor, however, quickly dismissed these reports. “We request you all to not believe in any sort of rumours pertaining to our relationship. There is no truth in this. Love and light to everyone,” wrote Shamita on social media. The two were a picture of togetherness as they stepped out later in the day.

Be my guest

Salman Khan will share screen space with cine idol Chiranjeevi in Godfather. Khan, who makes a cameo appearance in the film, will shoot his portions with the south megastar in Karjat, over the weekend. They were to film their scenes in January, but the schedule had to be deferred after Chiranjeevi tested COVID-19 positive. Salman utilised the free dates to complete a stint of Tiger 3. Now, after almost two months’ wait, the two superstars will light up the frame together. It is heard that Chiranjeevi will stay at Khan’s Karjat farmhouse during the schedule.

Game on for Ranveer

After being part of the NBA All-Star Celebrity game in the US last month, Ranveer Singh has headed to the UK to catch up on the British Premiere League. The actor, who is the ambassador for the football tournament, said, “I’m pumped up. I’m heading there to watch some of the biggest matches, including Arsenal vs Leicester City, Crystal Palace vs Manchester City.”

The actor, now 15 kilos lighter, is seen playing serial killer Manish Dubey in Ajay Devgn’s Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness.
