Sharvari Wagh, who made her debut with Bunty Aur Babli 2 last year, has recently started taking Kathak lessons. She credits her idol Madhuri Dixit-Nene for inspiring her to learn the dance form. Having always been in awe of the Devdas actor, she says, “Every time I’d see Madhuri ji’s songs, dance shows or even posts on social media, I’d look online for Kathak teachers to learn the dance form.” Interestingly, Sharvari isn’t learning from any teacher, but by observing Madhuri’s performances. “For me, Kathak actually stems from my love for Madhuri ji. I want to learn it because I’ve seen her perform so well. So, it’s something I’m trying to do because I love her so much and from that I’m trying to pick it up and learn it on my own,” she confesses, hoping to dance with Madhuri some day.

Farhad calls Akki his mentor

As Bachchan Pandey nears its date with cinemas, director Farhad Samji is hardly a bundle of nerves. For him, the film was a ‘challenging and exciting experience’. “I had fun and challenges while making this film,” says the director about his fourth movie with lead actor Akshay Kumar. He adds, “We share a wonderful rapport and Akshay sir turned out to be a great mentor too.”

Huma is inspired by Ajith’s humility

About four years since Kaala, starring Rajinikanth, Huma Qureshi is excited about her second Tamil outing, Valimai, with Ajith. Huma says working with him has been a learning experience. “Ajith sir is  a big star, yet he takes his stardom lightly and remains simple in his everyday life. I really enjoyed working with him. His humility not only impressed me, but also inspires me to be down-to-earth no matter what I achieve and where I reach as an actor,” she says.

Bonding with the Roshans

It appears that Saba Azad, who is reportedly dating Hrithik Roshan, has been welcomed by the Roshan family. The Rocket Boys actor had joined the family for lunch on Sunday. Duggu’s uncle Rajesh Roshan shared a few pictures on social media, saying, “Happiness is always around… especially on a Sunday, specifically at lunch time.” While Hrithik commented, “Hahaha, true that chacha !! And you are the most fun,” Saba described it as the ‘Best Sunday’.

Batting for the LGBTQiA+ community

Ayushmann Khurrana’s process of choosing a script is simple — he puts his might behind subjects that he firmly believes in. As Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan completed two years yesterday, the actor shared a poem on social media saying he is only a medium to highlight socially relevant issues. He added that he will continue rooting for equal rights for the LGBTQiA+ community in India. Hoping that people do their bit to effect the required changes in society, the Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui actor said, “I want to reiterate the fact that we all can be vehicles of change in society. We have to strive to make it a better world for every gender. We all have the power to make a difference within and around us. So, let’s unite to do just that.”

SRK resumes Atlee film

On Monday, Shah Rukh Khan resumed work on his next with South director Atlee. Shooting for the yet-untitled movie had come to a halt in the wake of his son Aryan Khan’s arrest on October 3 last year. A huge set has been built in Film City, where Nayanthara and Sanya Malhotra, too, will join SRK for the shoot. After wrapping up his portions in this brief spell, the actor will fly off to Spain for the outdoor schedule of Pathan with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

The celebrations continue

After exchanging vows in a close-knit family affair at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s farmhouse in Khandala on Saturday, Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar had a civil marriage at his Bandra home yesterday. The newly-weds twinned in shades of gold for the occasion. Farah Khan and Sajid Khan, who share a close bond with the Akhtars were present, as was Rhea Chakraborty, a close friend of the bride. The couple is also said to host a reception soon.

No food for thought this!

Prabhas recently began the second schedule of his next, Project K, with Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in Hyderabad. The Saaho actor treated the Big B to ghar ka khaana on Sunday. Going by the megastar’s post, it looks like the feast was perhaps too much for him to stomach. “Baahubali Prabhas, your generosity is beyond measure. You bring me home-cooked food, beyond delicious. You send me quantity beyond measure… could have fed an army… the special cookies… beyond scrumptious… and your compliments beyond digestible,” wrote Big B, on social media.
