Helen Skelton’s rugby ace ex Richie Myler shared a loved-up photo of himself with new girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill, 32, and her parents, declaring that they’d ended the rugby season as a “family”. At around the same time, Helen used Instagram to show off two of her three children cuddling up together and described them as “besties” in a broadcast to her 337,000 followers.

The Countryfile presenter, who wowed the judges on Strictly last weekend, was in a buoyant mood in spite of her heartbreak earlier in the year.

The couple called it quits on their eight year marriage just four months after she gave birth to their third child.

However, she posted footage on Instagram yesterday claiming that she was “grateful” about life as she praised her seasoned dance partner, Gorka Marquez.

“Credit where it’s due … this one @gorka_marquez deserves kudos for not only getting me around the dance floor ….but on it in the first place,” Helen exclaimed enthusiastically, adding: “Grateful Mr M!”

Fellow TV fave Matt Baker replied encouragingly: “Go Helen!”, while Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha praised: “You were sensational!”

Lisa Snowdon exclaimed that the star was “beautiful” in her baby blue Cinderella style gown, while songstress Una Healey described her as “incredible”.

Meanwhile, Gorka delivered a personal reply, exclaiming: “It’s all down to you and your hard work! So proud.”

Back in April, she had announced to her followers that she was “very sad” about parting from her ex and no longer being a couple.
