Hell’s Paradise Episode 1 is streaming only on Netflix in India.
Crunchyroll had announced Hell’s Paradise in its lineup of Spring 2023 anime that will simulcast in India, on the same day as Japan. Not only that, it even announced that the studio Mappa anime will receive a Hindi dub.
However, when fans flocked to the streaming site to watch the show on April 1, Hell’s Paradise was nowhere to be seen in the simulcast season page. While others around the world were able to watch the show, Indian Crunchyroll subscribers were unable to see Hell’s Paradise anywhere.
Later, the anime popped up on Netflix in the country, with its first episode currently streaming on the platform. That still left the status of the Hindi dub unanswered, and when IGN India reached out to Crunchyroll to enquire we heard the following back from the company:
“We prematurely announced the availability of Hell’s Paradise in India and want to apologize to our fans. Unfortunately, we cannot give an update as to if and when the title will premiere on our platform. Thank you for your understanding.”
A nearly-identical statement was also put out on Crunchyroll’s Twitter, informing Indian fans about Hell’s Paradise’s status on the platform:
⚠️ NOTICE: We prematurely announced the availability of Hell’s Paradise in India. We will provide any updates as soon as they become available. We deeply apologize for the mistake.
