Apple may launch iOS 16.2 in mid-December, journalist Mark Gurman has claimed in his latest Power On newsletter. The Bloomberg journo also predicted that iPadOS 16.2 may also see its rollout alongside iOS 16.2. It is important to note that the first beta of iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 came out last week and that there could still be changes that Apple could make and features it could add to the iOS 16.2 update.
One of the features iOS 16.2 is supposed to add is Live Activities Integration for a few sports games for the TV app on the iPhone. With this feature, users will be able to keep a track of their gaming in real time on their Lock Screen or the Dynamic Island for iPhone 14 Pro models.
Freeform, a new app that allows users to collaborate with friends and co-workers on a single board using text, images, drawings, etc. is also expected to arrive with the iOS 16.2 update.
A new Sleep Widget option is also expected to come to the Lock Screen. Apple may bring three Widget options: one that shows how much time the user spent in bed, another that has a bar chart for sleep quality and a third, bigger one that shows time in bed along with a visual representation.
Apple’s probable roadmap after iOS 16.2
Gurman also had something to add on the future roadmap of the Apple updates. According to him, Apple may launch the iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, and ‌macOS Ventura‌ 13.3 around February and March to coincide with new Mac releases.
