Hi-Fi Rush Update 3 Brings Villanous Costumes, Accessibility Options, and Bug Fixes

A new update for Hi-Fi Rush has now become available. This new update, dubbed Update 3, will let players deck out their characters with new costumes as well as have a more accessible experience in multiple fronts for players running through Vandalay on Easy and Normal modes. The update is now available for download across Xbox Series consoles and PC.

Update 3 lets Hi-Fi Rush players tap on their villainous side and grab some special costumes that let them cosplay as the main antagonists of the game’s story. You’ll see Chai take on the costume of Kale Vandalay, Peppermint as Rekka, Korsica as Zanzo, CNMN as Korsica, 808 as Roquefort, and hilariously enough, Macaron as Mimosa. Unfortunately, this means that Korsica will not be able to take on the costume of the iconic Hi-Fi Rush villain: Korsica.

Anyway, Update 3 will also bring with it a new set of accessibility options for the less challenging modes for Hi-Fi Rush. The 2D rhythm game sections got a revision which offers a wider window of success for missed inputs. Now, instead of instantly failing, players can complete the rhythm minigame. You still will need to clear at least 70% of the rhythm game in order to progress to the next section, though.

This accessibility change also applies to the Rhythm Parry system. Pressing and holding the button for the first action in a forced parry event (or dodge) will allow Chai to automatically parry or evade subsequent actions in the event. Keep in mind that in a Rhythm Parry Attack, players must still press attack or parry to the Beat Hit prompt to deal the finishing blow. The 2D Rhythm Game and Rhythm Parry assist options are available only on Easy and Normal difficulties, and they can be toggled on and off.

Update 3 will allow Hi-Fi Rush players to keep track of their collectibles way easier than before. The stage select screen now displays how many collectibles you have found in each stage. If there are no collectibles of a certain type in a particular stage, it will display 0/0. Additionally, if you completed the collection, you will be able to see a green checkmark on the stage select screen. The game has also addressed some bugs that would break it at points while changing one of the robot’s colors to Cyber Blue in hopes of increasing its “Cool factor” among younger audiences.

Hi-Fi Rush is currently available exclusively on Xbox Series consoles and PC.
