During the first episode, the Duke of Sussex recalled the paparazzi “harassing” him and Prince William while they were at a ski resort with his mother, Princess Diana.

Footage then shows Diana marching over to the photographers before covering the lens of the camera and saying: “Excuse me, please stop.

“As a parent, could I ask you to respect my children’s space? Because I brought the children out here for a holiday. And we would really appreciate the space.”

Discussing the moment, Vanessa said that the footage meant viewers could “really see in a vivid way” what it was like for Harry to grow up in such a public sphere.

Holly then jumped in and said: “One thing I just want to ask you Camilla was that people got very angry with them once they stepped back from the royal family to go and have, essentially what they were saying was they stepped back from public life to go and have a private life.

“For us, a private life means behind closed doors, never speaking to the press, just going about your business.

“But what I got from the documentary was that public life, this royal life, a private life was stepping away from sort of royal duties, but not private in the way that we see it.

“Maybe that’s where the confusion comes from because it’s the first time I understood, ‘Oh, that’s what you mean by a private life,’ it’s the opposite of public royal duties.”

The first three episodes of Harry & Meghan dropped on Netflix today (Thursday, December 8).

Viewers won’t need to wait long for the rest as the following three instalments will be out next week on December 15.

Harry & Meghan is available to watch on Netflix.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
