Honor has confirmed the launch of Honor X9a, which is launching in Malaysia on January 4. The Honor X9a will be the company’s third smartphone in the Honor X9 lineup, joining the Honor X9 and Honor X9 5G. . The company has revealed the design and some of the key specifications for the upcoming handset.
The Honor X9a will be officially unveiled on January 4 at 7 pm local time in Malaysia (4:30 pm IST), as indicated on the company’s landing page.
Honor X9a is depicted in white color and features a hole punch display cutout for the front-facing camera. The smartphone will feature a curved OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Honor X9a is rumored to be a rebranded Honor X40, so it may come with similar specifications.
Honor X9a would feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED curved-edge display with a punch-hole located in the center. The display would have a full-HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and an under-display fingerprint scanner for security purposes.
Rumours are that Honor X9a would run on Android 12 with the company’s Magic UI on top. It is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 processor, thus bringing 5G connectivity. The chipset under the hood would be paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. Furthermore, the smartphone could come with a 5,100mAh battery with support for 40W fast wired charging.
In the camera department, the smartphone is expected to have a dual camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP macro snapper paired with an LED flash on the back. On the front, the smartphone would have an 8-megapixel camera inside the punch hole cutout for selfies.
