Synopsis
According to the latest research by hospitality research firm HVS Anarock, revenue per available room (RevPAR) was between ₹3,696 and ₹3,944 in October, which was around 60% higher than the year-ago range. The trend augurs well for the sector since the second-half of a fiscal has a higher business potential due to higher leisure and business travel, and the wedding season.
ET Intelligence Group: Investor interest in the hospitality sector is on the rise amid improving travel demand and increasing room fares. These factors are expected to result in a stronger earnings growth for the sector over the next year. The ET Hospitality Index, which covers prominent hotel companies across sizes, has gained 9% compared with a 4.8% jump in the benchmark Nifty 50 over the past three months.
