The next major Fortnite patch is right around the corner as Epic Games has confirmed the server downtime schedule for the v21.40 update.

After a month of no new content updates, today’s update is expected to be a big one. After being teased by the developers earlier this week, the v21.40 update is expected to be a huge crossover with the popular anime series, Dragon Ball Z. A new trailer for the crossover will be going live as soon as server downtime begins, and can be watched on the official Fortnite YouTube account.

Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z is expected to be the game’s biggest collaboration yet, with the official teaser tweet being Fortnite’s most liked tweet ever. According to the reliable leaker, ShiinaBR, the crossover will include a heap of challenges, rewards, skins, and more.

If you’re eager to jump into the new Fortnite update, make sure you know exactly when server downtime is due. Here’s everything you need to know about the v21.40 server maintenance schedule on August 16th.

When Will Fortnite Be Back Up? v21.40 Server Downtime Schedule

As confirmed via the official Fortnite Status Twitter account, the game’s servers will be offline on Tuesday, August 16th 2022 at 4AM ET / 8AM UTC / 9AM BST. Although the developers didn’t specify how long Fortnite will be in downtime for, previous content updates have seen maintenance last for roughly two hours. This means the Fortnite servers will start coming back up at 6AM ET / 10AM UTC / 11AM BST.

Once server downtime has been completed, Fortnite players will be prompted to download the v21.40 patch. Alongside the new Dragon Ball Z collaboration, fans can also expect to find plenty of bug fixes, changes, and possibly even some map changes to the island.

It’s currently unclear whether or not the Dragon Ball Z crossover will go live as soon as the new Fortnite update drops, or if an official release time will be announced following the release of v21.40.
