Hundreds of unhappy HSBC customers have taken to social media to air their anger that the bank’s app has just gone down. The outage has affected a number of Britons up and down the country.

High street bank HSBC is experiencing problems with technology with hundreds of its customers taking to Twitter to complain about the problem.

It’s left customers without means of accessing their accounts online which means they won’t be able to transfer money or pay bills.

This is the latest in a long line of banks to experience technical problems with its online apps over recent weeks.

HSBC said its technical division is looking into the issue but could not confirm when the app will be up again.

Another unhappy user, Kevin McShane asked: “What’s happening with the mobile app today?

“I’m now locked out of everything and I know I entered the correct password.

“I see that I’m not alone in this.

“Maybe an official response is needed.”

He continued: “For some people online banking isn’t a choice – they are being forced to use online or app-based banking due to so many branch closures in their area.”

While cash machine withdrawals and card payments aren’t thought to be affected, not being able to log into the app will cause a big headache for lots of people.

On the Down Detector website, one angry customer Shinyprincess22 said it wasn’t as simple as going to a cash machine to complete a transaction.

They commented: “They have closed millions of stores around places and now people’s rents and mortgages are late being paid.”

Express.co.uk has contacted HSBC for comment on the outages.
