Huawei P30, Huawei P30 Pro with SuperSensing 40MP Camera, Kirin 980 SoC Launched: Price, Specifications

Huawei held an event today to showcase its latest flagship phones Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro. This event is handled by Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Group. Although both of these phones are packed with the world’s best possible technology, however, Huawei P30 Pro is more premium smartphone than the P30. Huawei P30 and P30 Pro come with a waterdrop notch FullView display with slim bezels. Huawei P30 and P30 Pro comes with SuperSensing 40MP triple rear camera setup with unmatched quality. Let’s take a closer look at the latest Huawei’s flagship phones.

Huawei P30 Specifications

Huawei P30 features a huge 6.1-inch FHD+ (2560×1440 pixels) OLED display at the top with waterdrop style notch at the front. To give it a premium look, Huawei P30 comes with slim bezels even narrower than the iPhone XR. In addition, Huawei P30 comes with IP57 rated splash resistant certificate.

It is powered by octa-core (2.6 GHz, Dual core, Cortex A73 + 1.92 GHz, Dual core, Cortex A76 + 1.8 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53) processor paired with Mali-G76 MP10 GPU having Kirin 980 SoC which is based on the 7nm fabrication process. It comes with 6GB of RAM which is coupled with up to 256GB of inbuilt storage.

As mentioned above, Huawei has mainly focused on the camera department of these phones. Huawei P30 comes with a SuperSensing 40MP Leica Triple rear camera setup which includes a 40MP wide angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, a 16MP ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and at last an 8MP 3X telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. While at the front, it houses a 32MP selfie shooter which sits inside the notch.

Huawei P30

Huawei’s 40MP camera is the world’s first to use RYYB (red, yellow, yellow, blue) sensor (instead of the standard of RYGB) which company claims that it will allow 40% more light absorption which results in better low-light photography. The company also claims that the P30 will deliver the best in class zooming performance with 3x optical zoom and 5x hybrid zoom and 10x digital zoom. One major key point of the camera packed in Huawei P30 is its light sensitivity which is the second highest in the industry with ISO 204,800.

Apart from this, Huawei P30 comes with good connectivity options including dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band A-GPS/ GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. It also features an in-display fingerprint sensor along with face unlock. As for the battery, Huawei P30 is fuelled by 3,650mAh battery which comes with 22.5W fast charging support and additionally 15W wireless charging.

Huawei P30 Pro Specifications

Huawei P30 Pro is the most premium smartphone by Huawei. This phone sports a 6.47-inch FHD+ (2560×1440 pixels) OLED flat display at the top with waterdrop style notch at the front. It features narrow bezels giving it a premium look. The Huawei P30 Pro is IP68-certified certified for dust and water resistance.

Similar to P30, the Pro variant is also powered by octa-core (2.6 GHz, Dual core, Cortex A73 + 1.92 GHz, Dual core, Cortex A76 + 1.8 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53) processor paired with Mali-G76 MP10 GPU having Kirin 980 SoC which is based on the 7nm fabrication process. Huawei has paired this phone with 8GB of RAM and storage options from 128GB to 512GB.

In the camera department, P30 Pro features the world’s best camera module on a phone. Huawei P30 Pro comes with a SuperSensing 40MP Leica Quad rear camera setup which includes a 40MP wide angle lens with f/1.6 aperture, a 20MP ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP 5X telephoto lens with f/3.4 aperture and at last a ToF depth-sensing camera. While at the front, it houses a 32MP selfie shooter which sits inside the notch.

Huawei P30 Pro

This is the first time that Huawei has moved from f/1.8 to f/1.6 aperture in Huawei P30 Pro. This allows the camera to intake 25% more light than the previous P20 Pro phone. Apart from this, The Huawei P30 Pro has the world’s most powerful super zoom lens technology with a 5x optical, 10x hybrid and an incredible 50x digital zoom. The biggest highlight of the camera module of P30 Pro is its light sensitivity which is the world’s highest in the industry with ISO 409,600 which carries enough power to shoot a clearer image in no light condition as demonstrated during the event.

Apart from this, Huawei P30 Pro comes with good connectivity options including dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band A-GPS/ GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. As for the battery, Huawei P30 is fuelled by a huge 4,200mAh battery which comes with 40W fast charging support and additionally 15W wireless charging.

Huawei P30, P30 Pro Price and Availability

Huawei P30 is set to be available at a price tag of €799 (Rs 62,900 approx) for the 6GB + 128GB variants. While the Huawei P30 Pro goes for €999 (Rs 77,900 approx) for the 8GB + 128GB option, the 8GB + 256GB version costs €1,099 (Rs 85,900 approx), and at last, the 8GB + 512GB is priced at €1,249 (Rs 97,499 approx).

Both of these phones will be available in Amber Sunrise, Pearl White, Black, Aurora and Blue Crystal color options. As for its availability is concerned, Huawei P30 and P30 Pro is available starting from Today itself. In India, it is expected to be available in April 2019.
