I tested a heated hoodie and slippers to see if I could resist putting the heating on | Personal Finance | Finance

I don’t think it costs any money to charge it as I charge my power bank from my laptop while I’m using the laptop for work anyway.

According to Uswitch, charging a laptop for seven hours a day, five days a week, costs an annual average of £12.26 – so even if you factor that in then it’s still a huge saving compared to central heating which now costs approximately 90 pence per hour.

The slippers, on the other hand, are more of a ‘nice to have’ than a great money-saving idea.

While they do warm your feet up, you have to keep putting them in the microwave for 60 seconds throughout the day, so for this reason I think it’s a much better idea to just put on another pair of socks.
