India vs Sri Lanka: Rohit Sharma Named Test Captain, Jasprit Bumrah Appointed Vice-Captain Ahead Of Sri Lanka Series

India squad for Sri Lanka series announced: India white-ball captain Rohit Sharma has been named the captain ahead of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka while Jasprit Bumrah was appointed his deputy. Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have been rested from the upcoming Twenty20 International series against Sri Lanka that starts on February 24.

Meanwhile, veteran batters Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have been dropped from the Test side for the series against Sri Lanka, but chairman of All-India Senior Selection Committee, Chetan Sharma made it clear that the “doors are still open” for the duo.
