At launch, the service will have twelve original audio shows in Gujarati, including inspirational stories of great Indian leaders, the significance of famous Gujarat temples, fascinating stories behind the creation of Iconic Gujarati music hits, and narration of short stories by Munshi Premchand.

The diverse show line-up will capture the true spirit of the language, the company said.

It intends to add more original content every week.

“At aawaz, we are committed to serving purposeful content in Indian languages,” said CEO Sreeraman Thiagarajan. “Launch of aawaz Gujarati is at par with our vision to provide audio experiences to Indians in their local language.”

In India, Gujarati is spoken by over 55 million people, making it the sixth most spoken language in the country.
