The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced the hosts for the first ever Olympic Esports Week, marking a new chapter in the history of competitive video gaming.
The IOC revealed that Singapore will host the competition next year between June 22 and June 25. The event will be conducted as a joint collaboration between the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Sport Singapore and the Singapore National Olympic Committee (SNOC).

Expect to see all the thrills and chills of your favourite Esports titles during the event, with the Olympic Esports Week featuring the first in-person finals of the Olympic Esports Series.
The virtual series launched in Summer 2021, and it featured events on sports like baseball, motorsport, cycling, rowing and sailing. According to the IOC, the 2021 edition of the event saw over 250,000 competitors from 100 countries.
IOC President Thomas Bach shared his excitement for the new chapter in the storied history of the Olympics with the advent of Esports.
The IOC has further declared that more details about the Esports Week will be revealed in early 2023.
