Apple’s Peek Performance event kickstarted in all its glory and the audience was excited to see what the technology giant has in store for them. Speculations about the devices that were scheduled to release during this event have been popping up left, right and centre and the anticipation has gone through the roof. Apple has finally unveiled a great line of products during the event including the likes of a new iPhone SE, new iPad Air, Mac Studio and Studio Display and a new colour for the iPhone 13.

Apple TV+

The event was kicked off with an entrance with none other than the CEO himself, Tim Cook. They started the event with an introduction of Apple Original Films for their streaming platform, Apple TV+. There was a film showcase that included the likes of Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, Zac Effron, Dua Lipa and many more big-name celebrities. Apple also introduced a new series called Friday Nights Baseball which will be exclusive to the Apple TV+ subscription.

iPhone 13 New Colors

The first device that was unveiled was the already released powerhouse iPhone 13. No new specifications were released for this flagship smartphone, but new colour options were revealed for both iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. The iPhone 13 received a new Green Color option and the Pro model received an Alpine Green colour option.

iPhone SE

The second device was an all-new iPhone SE which has been upgraded greatly under the hood while keeping the same small form factor. The new smartphone will be shipped with the A15 Bionic Chip, the same chip that is used to power their flagship devices, iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. iPhone SE has also been provided with 5G capabilities to future proof the smartphone.

iPad Air

The affordable tablet series has also received a humongous upgrade. The new iPad Air will be powered by the M1 Chip, which is also used to power the flagship tablet by Apple, iPad Pro. iPad Air will also receive a major front camera upgrade with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens which supports CenterStage features.

 

M1 Ultra

Apple has unveiled a new silicon chip to their M1 series and the latest one is called the M1 Ultra. The new chip will provide literally double the amount of power that is available with the top-of-the-line M1 Max Chip. Two M1 Max Chips have been joined with Apple’s new Ultrafusion architecture. The new powerhouse will provide the user with 2.5tb/s of interprocessor bandwidth and 800gb/s of memory bandwidth. The chipset will be loaded with a 20-core CPU, 64-core GPU and a 32-core Neural Engine and 128 GB of Unified Memory. The M1 Ultra will provide the user with industry-leading performance per watt, wherein the chip will provide 90% more power than the competition while being 65% more power-efficient than them. The power of the M1 Ultra will scale higher due to perfect synchronization with MacOS.

Mac Studio and Studio Display

The last two devices that were showcased were the Mac Studio and the Studio Display. There will be 2 variants for the Mac Studio, one with the M1 max chip and the other with the M1 Ultra chip. The user will be able to connect 4 Pro XDR Displays and 1 4K TV without any issues. It is tremendously faster than the previous generations and with the M1 Ultra chip, these speeds reach the next dimension. The user will also be able to play 18 streams of 8K ProRes 422 Video simultaneously.

The studio display will provide the user with an integrated experience as it works best with the Mac Studio. The device will have a 28-inch 5K retina display, it has a great sounding 6 speaker system that consists of 4 woofers and 2 tweeters and spatial audio. The device will also be powered by an A13 Bionic Chip and will have the same new 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera that was introduced for the new iPad Air, with the CenterStage feature. The device will also have several ports for connectivity and wields enough power to fast charge the 14-inch Macbook Pro.
