Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals kick off their IPL 2023 campaign when the two sides play at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad later in the day. The match starts at 3:30 pm. Sunrisers Hyderabad will have England stars Harry Brook and Adil Rashid in their side. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be leading the side in the absence of newly-appointed skipper Aiden Markram, who is busy with his crucial international cricket commitments with South Africa.

“It is a new team as compared to the last season. We have brought in new international and domestic players. Harry Brook and Adil Rashid are here. They are doing so well at the international level and having them in the team is good for us,” said Bhuvneshwar in a pre-match press conference.

On the side’s bowling unit, the skipper said that the bowling attack is experienced. “The youngest one in the bowling attack is Umran. He did well for India and SRH last year. It is about going out there and executing our plans,” he concluded.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will also have the services of Akeal Hosein, Glenn Phillips, Marco Jansen and Heinrich Klaasen.

Rajasthan Royals will be looking forward to recreating last year’s magic when they lost in the finals. The Royals are being led by Sanju Samson, and have the services of Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin and Australian tweaker Adam Zampa.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting will have to guard against the wily leg-spinner Chahal, who had emerged the highest wicket-take in IPL 2022 with 27 scalps.

Royals’ batting will be led by Jos Buttler. England’s top-order batter Joe Root is also a part of their squad, apart from pinch-hitters like Shimron Hetmyer and Jason Holder. The Royals also have New Zealand quick Trent Boult, West Indian Obed McCoy and Navdeep Saini among others in their ranks.
