IPL is a great physiotherapist, gets everyone fit before auction: Shastri

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri on Tuesday said the IPL acts as one of the world’s greatest physiotherapists, with its ability to get the injured players fit in time for the league.

In his own inimitable way, Shastri said what many within the cricket fraternity, and outside of it, feel. “IPL is one of the greatest leagues in the world, and it’s also one of the greatest physios in the world, because, before the IPL auction everyone wants to get fit, because everyone wants to play in the IPL,” Shastri said during a press conference organised by Star Sports.

He will be part of the Hindi commentary team, something he has not been associated with in the past. Shastri, who was serving as the India head coach till last year’s T20 World Cup, said he could not do commentary because of “a stupid clause that binds us.”
