iQoo Neo 7 Racing Edition launch date confirmed in China: Expected specs, other details

Chinese smartphone maker iQoo launched two smartphones under the Neo 7 series in its domestic market. The latest iQoo Neo 7 lineup currently comprises the iQoo Neo 7 and the iQoo Neo 7 SE devices which are available in China. Earlier, rumours claimed that the company was developing another model for the iQoo Neo 7 series and now the company has officially confirmed the third model of the lineup.

iQoo took to Weibo to confirm the launch date of the upcoming Neo 7 Racing Edition handset (spotted by GizmoChina) and shared a poster along with the social media post. According to the Weibo post, iQoo Neo 7 Racing Edition model will be unveiled at 7 pm (local time) on December 29 in China.

The launch date poster also reveals that the upcoming smartphone will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. To compare with other phones in the same lineup, the iQoo Neo 7 comes powered by the Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset, whereas the Neo 7 SE includes the Dimensity 8200 mobile platform under the hood. A Vivo phone with model number V2232A was also recently spotted on multiple Chinese certification platforms. Rumours suggest that this device will arrive as the iQoo Neo 7 Racing Edition for the Chinese market. Here are some of the expected specs of the handset.

As per the TENAA listing, the iQoo Neo 7 Racing Edition is expected to sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that will offer a Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels) and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The upcoming handset will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor which is likely to be backed by up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.
For optics, the device may house a triple rear camera setup which will include a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens and another 2MP unit. iQoo Neo 7 Racing Edition is also rumoured to feature a 16MP front-facing shooter for selfies and video calls.
The device may pack a 5000mAh dual-cell battery unit that is likely to support 120W fast charging and is expected to boot the OriginOS 3 UI based on Android 13 OS. Apart from this, the iQoo Neo 7 Racing Edition smartphone is also speculated to support 5G connectivity, an IR blaster, and an in-screen fingerprint reader.
