Jim Moir, 64, and Bob Mortimer, 63, became one of the nation’s favourite comedy duos after rising to fame in the 1990s. Since then, Vic and Bob have worked on a number of TV programmes including Shooting Stars and Bang Bang It’s Reeves.

Despite often being dubbed the modern-day Morecambe and Wise, Jim has now revealed that the pair don’t speak much away from work.

Jim told Radio Times: “We never really speak much. Bob and I have never been ones for talking on the phone.

“We’ll see him now and then and have a chat about things. It’s not a conscious thing, we haven’t discussed it.”

He continued: “People have always thought that [our lives our entwined].

“Do you go out in the evening? We always said no, we don’t. We see each other in the daytime, we film.

“We used to when we were in our 20s, go out to the boozer, but we don’t really do that anymore.”

Jim’s new show with his wife Nancy, 48, will see them travel across the UK to watch and paint birds.

As they explore some of Britain’s best beauty spots they will be tasked with creating an original piece of art which celebrates birds native to that region.

They will be accompanied in each episode by conservation experts, artists, and a few of their famous friends.

The series starts on April 19 at 9pm on Sky Arts.

Jim and Nancy recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary after marrying in 2003.

Nancy was a pole dancer at London’s Stringfellows nightclub, she has also modelled for brands such as M&S, Next and Ann Summers.

The couple share twin daughters, who were born in 2006. Nancy is also stepmother to his two children, Alice and Bentley, from his first marriage to Sarah Vincent.
