Roma boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly received an eye-watering offer to manage in Saudi Arabia as he continues to be linked with a return to Chelsea for a third spell in charge at Stamford Bridge next season. The 60-year-old has been mentioned in connection with the Blues since Graham Potter was sacked earlier this month, with Frank Lampard set to remain in the dugout on an interim basis until the end of the campaign.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is fully expected to wave goodbye to Lampard in the summer before appointing a new permanent manager, with the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique said to be among the early frontrunners as things stand. Mourinho has also been linked with the west Londoners over the last few weeks, although it seems as though he could decide to go elsewhere before Lampard’s time in charge is up.

Mourinho has received a lucrative nine-figure contract offer to ditch Roma and ply his managerial trade in Saudi Arabia for a period of two years, according to Corriere dello Sport. It is said that he has been promised a total salary of around £105million to be spread over the duration of the agreement, which would see him take charge of either Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal or the Saudi national team.

The Roma boss would then be able to resign after just one year should he wish to do so, while there would also be an opportunity to extend his deal until the next World Cup in 2026. Mourinho is currently believed to be discussing the offer with his coaching team behind the scenes, with the financial perks involved able to change the lives of the Portuguese manager and his backroom staff.
