Australian teen sensation Josh Giddey has once again had his solid debut season with the Oklahoma City Thunder undervalued, missing out on the NBA All-Rookie first team.
Instead, the Melbourne-born star was named in the second team.
After failing to receive a single vote for the league’s Rookie of the Year award last month, the 19-year-old reacted to his latest snubbing.
Expressing his disappointment, Giddy posted a pair of laughing emojis to his Twitter account in reply to the announcement.

He also added an Instagram story where he re-shared an image of the second team with a confused face emoji.
The first team boasted a notable list of players, including Rookie of the Year winner Scottie Barnes and runner up Evan Mobley, No.1 pick Cade Cunningham, Orlando gun Franz Wagner and Houston ace Jalen Green.
The second team featured New Orleans’ Herb Jones, Denver’s Bones Hyland, Chicago’s Ayo Dosunmu and Indiana’s Chris Duarte alongside Giddey.
Giddey received 32 first team votes (worth two points each) and 59 second team votes (worth one point) for a total count of 122, which left him 7th overall.
It is thought that Giddey would have been a shoo-in for the top team had his promising season not been cut short because of hip soreness.
The injury struck at an unfortunate time for Giddey, who was a game removed from tallying three straight triple doubles. His first triple double for the season, a 17-point, 13-rebound and 14-assist effort against Dallas in January, saw him become the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple double.
He played just one game after the All-Star break, while Green started to hit his stride for the Rockets late in the season, scoring 30 points or more in six of his last seven games, including a monster 41-point outing against the Atlanta Hawks.
Giddy finished his season with averages of 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game in 54 appearances and was named the Western Conference’s Rookie of the Month on four separate occasions.
