Following multiple delays, it seemed like Rocksteady was finally ready to unveil its latest title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, this year.

However, the upcoming title was postponed once again by the studio following criticisms from the DC fandom towards Suicide Squad’s gameplay, when it was showcased during the recent PlayStation State of Play event.

In a recent report, it was reported that Rocksteady has no plans to overhaul gameplay elements, with the developers pushing the game to polish its various aspects. Many believe the game will release this year. However, industry insider Jeff Grubb doesn’t believe so.

During a recent episode of his Game Mess podcast, the Giant Bomb reporter shared that a source close to the game’s development has revealed a delay that will see Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League arrive in 2024. “I don’t want to like cause a panic or anything, but I’ve heard it’s not even coming this year.” said Grubb. “I’m hearing 2024.”

The longer delay suggests that Rocksteady might be looking to revamp major elements of the upcoming open-world title following backlash from fan. “They’re like, ‘this is a delay a** delay’,” stated Grubb. “This is a bigger delay than is even being put out there.”

It’s unclear however whether the studio might be looking to tweak its live-service elements, which has gained the ire of fans. So far, Rocksteady hasn’t revealed whether the game will be pushed to 2024.
