KK’s first song since his death Dhoop Paani Bahne De has left fans in tears

KK’s first song since his death after a concert last week has been released. The track titled Dhoop Paani Bahne De is the first song from the upcoming film Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga. It is composed by Shantanu Moitra and has lyrics by Gulzar. The film which is directed by Srijit Mukherji features Pankaj Tripathi, Sayani Gupta and Neeraj Kabi.

Dhoop Paani Bahne De’s music video is out and it features Pankaj and Neeraj amidst a forest. KK’s voice is mesmerizing. The song has left fans who are still mourning the musician’s demise, in tears. Listen to the song here:

Reacting to the track, a fan wrote, “KK’s voice echoes in our musical universe..he’ll be loved forever” Another wrote, “What a mesmerizing voice. Legends never die. Rest in peace KK”

In a recent interview with a leading publication, Gulzar opened up about the experience of working on the track saying, “Srijit [the film’s director] has done me a favour in Sherdil. Not only did I get to write for such a beautiful film, I got to meet KK after ages.”

He added, “KK had first sung a song of mine in Maachis, ‘Chhor aye hum woh galiyaan…’. When he came to sing the song for Sherdil, it filled my heart with joy. It’s a shame that this had to go down as one of his last songs. It’s like he came to say goodbye.”

Singer KK who was best known for his memorable tracks like Yaaron and Pyaar Ke Pal among others passed away on May 31 in Kolkata after a concert. The news of his sudden demise left the nation shocked. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
