Kristie Fulton’s sacking by Manly ‘unforgiveable’ says Ray Hadley

Sydney’s top-rating morning radio host Ray Hadley has slammed Manly over the sacking of pathways co-ordinator Kristie Fulton.

Fulton is the daughter of Immortal, and Manly legend, Bob Fulton, a long-time colleague and close friend of Hadley, who died in May 2021.

She was sacked on Friday, the latest casualty of the chaos that has brought the club to its knees.

Speaking on Radio 2GB, which is owned by Nine, Hadley described Fulton’s treatment as “unforgiveable” claiming she was “marched out of the Manly offices” and there was “no formal warning or attempt for HR (Human Resources) to deal with the matter.”

“She was marched off the premises like she’d stolen money from the petty cash tin,” Hadley said.

“How is it a capable, highly intelligent young woman is marched out the door at Manly, when her father’s name adorns a grandstand at Manly?”

The Sea Eagles have been in disarray since seven players stood down from the club’s round 20 match against the Sydney Roosters over their refusal to wear the pride jersey.

“Kristie told various people the so-called Rainbow Round would cause problems,” Hadley said.

“Well, it did more than that. It cost Manly their season and eventually cost (coach) Des Hasler his job.

“They (Manly) decided to do this when we were supposed to be celebrating Women in League round.

“Perhaps the fact that they just threw the Women in League round out the window and replaced it with rainbow round tells you how the Manly club values the worth of women in the game of rugby league.”

Fulton’s sacking comes hot on the heels of Hasler’s departure as head coach. Anthony Seibold is expected to be confirmed as his replacement.

“Anthony Seibold has three years to sort the club out,” Hadley said.

“I wish him the best of luck because he’s going to need it.”

Manly has been contacted for comment.
