In a statement released via AFP, Mbappe made it clear that the team were unhappy that an agreement could not be found before the World Cup, which begins in November.
Mbappe later said in May that the matter would be handled “with intelligence and respect”, as he looked to find common ground with the FFF.
But after his refusal to participate in the photoshoot, it seems the PSG forward has abandoned any attempt to solve the outstanding issue amicably.
The issue has thrown the French national camp back into crisis just 15 months after a furious row erupted between Mbappe, Adrien Rabiot and Paul Pogba at Euro 2020, with Didier Deschamps’ side crashing out on penalties to Switzerland, and they will be hoping to find a resolution before the World Cup in Qatar.
