Lambrook school: Parents are ‘p***ed off’ after learning royals will attend school – claim

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will start a new school year at Lambrook school this week. The school is located near Ascot in Berkshire, which is close to the Cambridges’ new home: Adelaide Cottage on the Queen’s Windsor estate.

The Cambridges have moved to give themselves privacy and peace – away from central London.

George, Charlotte, and Louis had no choice but to leave Thomas’s Battersea school and start afresh at another private school near their new home.

But, parents of other pupils at Lambrook school have criticised the establishment since being made aware that the royals will be joining their children this year.

Some parents have said they believe this will change the school since the Cambridge children are so high-profile.

The woman, whose children attend Lambrook school, continued: “Parents are picturing armed police in trees and in the corridors – they don’t want their kids witnessing it.

“There are no electric gates, but that may change with the royal kids coming. It’ll no longer be so easy to come and go.”

She added that “it’s certainly not the same school and vibe we signed the kids up for, and most parents I’ve spoken to feel the same”.

It is likely there will be added security at the school as the Cambridge children have come close to being in danger while at school in the past.

In June 2018, a man pleaded guilty to plotting terror attacks that included targeting Thomas’s Battersea school, where George and Charlotte formerly attended.

It is understood the children had discreet protection from armed royal officers while at the school.

Additionally, in 2017, a woman caused a major security scare at Thomas’s Battersea as she revealed she was able to stroll in after the gate and a main entrance door were left open.

At Lambrook school, George and Charlotte will attend prep, while Louis will go to pre-prep.

As the eldest, George will also attend classes on a Saturday, which are mandatory for children in year six and upwards.

The 52-acre school is considered to be one of the country’s best co-educational preps.

Two of Queen Victoria’s grandsons were among its first pupils, and other former pupils include actor Alex Pettyfer, poet Lord Alfred Douglas, and Majestic Wine founder Giles Clarke.

It costs up to £6,999 a term for pupils aged three to 13 – which means Kate and William’s total bill for their three children will cost around £50,000 a year.
