Hamilton had slammed his car as “undriveable” and suggested upgrades were a “disaster” following a poor practice session. But on Sunday, the seven-times world champion finished on the podium for just the third time this season – and for the first time since the opening event of 2022 in Bahrain.
He said in a separate interview: “There is potential in this car, but it’s got a really small working window and if you don’t get it perfect it’s all over the place and that’s a really hard thing to navigate through, but the team did a great job this weekend.
“I’ve had a fourth and a third now, so I’m definitely grateful and know I can do more. I’ve just got to keep working.”
