LG’s 88-inch 8K OLED TV makes public debut at IFA 2018

Battle of the high-tech, that’s one thing that might describe the different conferences at IFA 2018.  Apart from Samsung, LG has also taken the audiences at the IFA 2018 as it is announced their newest 88-inch 8K OLED TV making a rival with the other tech brands.

Just recently, LG released their 4K OLED TV, and now, they have released another TV giant again. There is a lot of assumptions about this one, but we can be sure that LG isn’t the one to be reckless. One possible reason is that out technology is constantly improving, that is why you to go with the rapid flow if you don’t want to be left behind. Brian Kwon, president of LG Home Entertainment Company, said that “LG’s first 8K OLED TV is the pinnacle of technological achievement and the next evolutionary step in display technology, 4K OLED played a major role in reshaping the TV industry, and LG is confident that 8K OLED will do the same.”  We might then expect that this 8K OLED TV will be a great one.

So what makes this TV so great that it has to replace 4K so early, let us take a look. The 8K OLED TV’s creation expands four times the pixel count of 4K and sixteen times that of the standard HDTV.  So just by looking at this, we can imagine the great difference between these two. Let’s take a look at its price, LG’s 77-inch OLED77W8 ‘wallpaper’ OLED TV is about $15,000, for the extra screen size and higher resolution than 8K OLED TV offers, it is just realistic to expect a higher league amount of its price.

In the presence of this greater feature, people are also thinking about the downsides that it might face. The extra-large that the 8K has might become a bit of a problem, living rooms with a large TV is already fitted with, but with an even larger screen just like the 8K OLED TV, how will they fit it. Yes, the resolution is amazingly great, but it might also consume a higher data when streaming, and native broadcasts might not even have this high resolution yet.
