Norway are yet to cap Schjelderup at senior level, with him instead being kept in their U21 team. He has not been quite as prolific on the international stage as he has been for his club – failing to score for his country since netting twice for their U15 side in 2019.

Liverpool could decide to sign another younger forward next summer, despite paying £85m for Darwin Nunez ahead of the 2022-23 season. They could move for Schjelderup if they match Nordsjaelland’s asking price.

A new midfielder is expected to be high on Jurgen Klopp’s wishlist heading into 2023. The Anfield outfit are believed to have a strong chance of signing £130m-rated Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, but face competition from across Europe.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona all want to sign the England midfielder. Bellingham has repeatedly refused to comment on speculation.
