macs: Apple working on iMac with M3 chip: Report

Apple could be working on an iMac that will have the M3 Silicon chip, as per the claims of tech journalist Mark Gurman. He also added that an iMac Pro is also in the works but the company won’t bring it to the market anytime soon. Gurman made the claims in his latest Power On newsletter.
“Since then, I’ve heard that the M2 chips aren’t the only ones in testing within Apple. And if you’re waiting for a new iMac, I’m hearing an M3 version of that desktop is already in the works—though I imagine it won’t launch until the end of next year at the earliest. Also, for those asking, I still think an iMac Pro is coming. It just won’t be anytime soon.”, said Gurman in the newsletter.
Apple could introduce its M2 Silicon chip in its devices later this year. The M2 chip is expected to feature the same 8-core CPU as its predecessor but also to be faster and more efficient than the M1.
As per an earlier report by Bloomberg, Apple may also have plans to release the new MacBook models in the coming months of 2022, continuing into early 2023. As per the report, the tech giant has “at least” nine new Macs under development that’ll use four different M2 chips: the standard M2, the M2 Pro, the M2 Mac and a successor to the M1 Ultra.
These include an entry-level, M2 chip-powered 13-inch MacBook Pro, a redesigned MacBook Air with an M2 chip with 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU, two Mac mini models with M2 and M2 Pro variants, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the M2‌ Pro and ‌M2‌ Max chips and a MacBook Pro powered by the successor to the M1 Ultra chip.
