Maharashtra: BJP not to let house function unless Nawab Malik quits, says Chandrakant Patil

The budget session of the Maharashtra assembly which begins on Thursday promises to be a stormy one, with the Bharatiya Janata Party vowing not to allow the assembly to function if skill development minister Nawab Malik does not resign.

“Instead of asking for his resignation, the Maha Vikas Aghadi has supported Nawab Malik who has been laundering money for the Dawood Ibrahim gang. Supporting Malik in spite of his involvement is like supporting gangster Dawood Ibrahim who was involved in killing hundreds in Mumbai blasts, state BJP chief Chandrakant Patil alleged on Tuesday. “If the government does not make his resign, we would not let the assembly function,” he said.

Patil slammed chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar for not asking Malik to quit.

MVA has said that it would not ask Malik to resign as he was a victim of political vendetta. It said Union minister Narayan Rane had not resigned after he was arrested.
