Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Gakpo given green light, two Croatians eyed, De Jong latest | Football | Sport

Manchester United could well splash out the cash next month as they look to provide Erik ten Hag with the tools he needs to continue making a good impression at Old Trafford. The Dutchman has enjoyed an impressive start to his reign at the club, and will harbour hopes of at least securing a top four finish at the end of the season.

In order to do that, however, he will need to continue building a squad with players he can rely on, and it appears to be very much a work in progress. Cristiano Ronaldo has already been bombed out of the club after his contract was mutually terminated, and Ten Hag will hope the money saved on the Portuguese star’s astronomical wages can go towards new signings.

Exactly where he decides to strengthen remains to be seen, but the Red Devils are being linked with a whole host of big names, including some who impressed at the World Cup. So will we see any movement in the market today?
