Following the release of Avengers: Endgame, it seems like Marvel is moving away from its big names by introducing new characters.

With no Iron Man, Steve Rogers and the Avengers to lead the world, the mantle has now been bestowed upon characters such as Sam Wilson’s Captain America, Doctor Strange and many more.

However, that’s not all as over the past few projects the MCU has introduced younger superheroes to the fandom. This includes characters like Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye, and Wanda Maximoff’s kids in Speed and Wiccan.

However, where do these characters all lead up to? For months, fans have theorized that Marvel might be looking into introduce another team in the MCU following the success of movies like Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.

On one hand, Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine is looking to build her own squad in the Thunderbolts by recruiting characters such as Yelena Belova and John Walker.

However, on the other hand, new rumors suggest that Marvel might be also looking towards developing the Young Avengers.

According to the leaks posted by MyTimeToShineHello, Marvel is currently planning for a Young Avengers project, which will involve the adaptation of popular comic book storyline, The Children’s Crusade.

The 2010-2012 run focused on Scarlet Witch’s kids in Wiccan and Speed, who recently debuted in the MCU with the Wandavision Disney+ show. The plot revolves around their efforts to find their mother with the help of their grandfather in Magneto.

It’s unclear how the storyline will be handled in the MCU, as it requires the Young Avengers to be set up as a team. However, there’s a chance that the MCU might tweak the story a bit, to make some room for the team’s introduction as Wiccan and Speed try to find their mother, possibly after the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

It remains to be seen if this movie will be announced as a Phase 5 project. However, fans are excited about the prospects of another popular Marvel comic book IP entering the MCU.
