Marvel’s Spider-Man Voice Actor Confident About the 2023 Release for the Sequel From Insomniac Games; Teases ‘Massive’ Scale
Following much speculation, Insomniac Games confirmed that the sequel to the hit PlayStation Spider-Man title will make it’s way later this year.
Thanks to this announcement, fans have been overjoyed with the return of everyone’s favourite friendly neighbourhood superhero, as we await the arrival of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales alongside a new character in Venom.
Not much is known about the game’s plot. However, Peter Parker voice actor recently teased that the game will be bigger than ever.
In an interview with ComicBookMovie.com, Lowenthal shared that he still has voice work to complete for the character. “I’ve still got a little bit to do. It’s a massive game, so I’m still doing a little bit of work,” said the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 star.
Lowenthal further stated that he is confident about Insomniac completing the game’s development for a 2023 release. “I know they’re confident about their release date, and Insomniac has always been good about that. Obviously, I can’t really talk about the game much, but I will tell you that it’s astonishing.”
PlayStation Spider-Man actor yet to be pinged for a cameo on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Along with a new Spider-Man video game, fans of the web-slinger are also waiting for the sequel to the hit animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Titled Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the film focus on a multitude of variants of the iconic comic book character.
Among the many versions of the characters in the multiverse, the film’s trailer confirmed that the Insomniac’s variant of Peter Parker will be making an appearance in the film as well. However, Lowenthal recently shared that he was never contacted about making a cameo in the sequel.
In the same interview, Lowenthal said, “I still don’t know, and I keep waiting for my phone to ring.” He further stated how his character will be shown in the film:
“There are many ways they could play that and one of those ways is, much like they showcased our suit in the background in the first film, you might just get to see him. I don’t know. I hope.”
