Matt Reeves Confirms That He Is Working on the Script of the Sequel for One of the Best DC Movies in a While
Fans can rest easy as Matt Reeves has confirmed that a sequel for The Batman is indeed getting made. In an interview with Collider, Matt Reeves assured fanatics that DC’s plans for a new universe does not affect the development of his series of movies.
The Batman Sequel is Safe
As we already know, DC’s new heads James Gunn and Peter Safran have made some controversial decisions to revamp the DCEU. They have already announced that Henry Cavill will not return as the Man of Steel. While Wonder Woman 3 is cancelled, Black Adam is also not part of the duo’s initial plans.
This has poured water on the expectation of many fans, and many were scared that The Batman’s future could be uncertain too. Fortunately, they can be assured that The Batman series starring Robert Pattinson will go on as intended.
Who is Writing the Sequel?
At the moment, we don’t know what characters and villains will be making their way to the sequel. However, Reeves has confirmed that he will be writing the script alongside Mattson Tomlin, who recently wrote Batman: The Imposter comic book series.
He concluded stating that he really favors Robert Pattinson, as a person as well as an actor. There is no doubt about The Batman’s performance in the theatres as it was the 7th highest grossing film in 2022, earning over $770 million in the global box office. It is also one of the best DC movies to release in recent memory. So, it will be exciting to see what comes next for Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.
