Max Verstappen gives blunt reason for not copying Lewis Hamilton on social media | F1 | Sport

Max Verstappen has given a blunt reason as to why he is not very active on social media, which is a stark contrast to his F1 rival Lewis Hamilton. The Red Bull star only posts a handful of times a month and it is likely those messages are done by a management agency.

Hamilton takes a different approach to his social media and is clearly the one in charge. The seven-time world champion posts daily updates to his followers and let’s everyone know exactly what his lavish lifestyle is like.

Verstappen was quizzed on if he will put more time into posting on social media in the future – but he has absolutely no plans to do so.

“I just don’t feel the need to show my private life to the outside world. Kelly also does it much less than before,” Verstappen told Dutch outlet Limburger. “When I’m ever done with Formula 1 I don’t see myself posting very much after that. I just don’t like it. Some people do nothing else all day, I am busy with other things.

“For example, I spend quite a lot of time on my phone, but that is more to arrange things around my sim team. It also takes a lot of time, but because it is my passion, I really enjoy working on it.”

Verstappen won his second world title this year and needs just more to equal Hamilton and Michael Schumacher’s record. But the 25-year-old is uncertain how many more years he has left in the tank.

Verstappen explained: “I have often indicated that this is too much and the main reason that I will not continue to do this until I turn 40. Traveling a lot and stuff, that’s just not healthy.
