Microsoft brings AI to Swiftkey
Microsoft has updated the Swiftkey keyboard app with new Bing integration that allows users to directly access Bing right from the keyboard via Swiftkey. Microsoft has integrated Bing into SwiftKey in three ways – Chat, Tone and Search. Users will see a new Bing icon above the keyboard. The latest update is rolling out to all users starting today and it will be available to download via Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Chat: With chat feature, users can access the new Bing on the go for more detailed queries. According to the company, it can help users get jokes and clever pun or get information about a local restaurant, plan a trip, etc.
Tone: The tone feature allows users to communicate more effectively using AI to customise their in-progress text to fit any situation. It can help users formulate emails in the right tone or it even applies to a normal conversation. It can also help users generate a post text with tones to make the words sound more professional, casual, polite or concise enough for a social post.
Search: The search functionality lets users quickly search the web from the keyboard, without switching apps.
Bing App gets improved translation feature
The translator functionality in the mobile Bing app now offers alternative masculine and feminine translations when translating from English to Spanish, French, or Italian. This feature allows users to choose the gendered translation that best fits their context and is helpful for well-intentioned speakers of all proficiency levels.
Skype gets Bing access in group chats
The latest updates bring Bing in Skype group chats. This allows every participant of the group to access Bing in the context of the ongoing conversation. Microsoft has clarified that only one person in the group needs to have access to the preview. The new feature is available in all markets now where the new Bing is available.
