Microsoft might soon announce the budget-oriented laptop, the Surface Laptop Go 2 which was first reported in April. The key specs of this upcoming laptop have been leaked online after a Korean retailer added the device to its listings. According to a report by The Verge, the listings (which have now been deleted) suggest that the tech giant might announce the new laptop very soon as it is likely to launch on June 2.

As per the report, Microsoft is expected to maintain the same pricing structure with the Surface Laptop Go 2 as it did with its predecessor. The last series had three different variants where the base model came with 4GB RAM/64GB storage and was priced at $549 (almost around Rs 42,650). Whereas the mid-tier version came with 128GB storage and a fingerprint sensor, which was available for $699 (almost around Rs Rs 54,300). Lastly, the top variant was equipped with 8GB RAM/256GB storage and carried a price tag of $899 (almost around Rs 69,800). Earlier reports mentioned that the new Surface Laptop Go 2 will be available in a new colour called Sage. However, the company hasn’t offered a first look at the colour.

The report claims that most specs of the upcoming laptop are likely to be the same as its predecessor. The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 is expected to feature a 12.4-inch display with 1536 x 1024 pixels resolution and the signature 3:2 aspect ratio that is common in all Surface devices.
The recently leaked listing suggests that the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 will be powered by an Intel Core i5 CPU, which is a big upgrade from its predecessor. Apart from a faster CPU, this model is also expected to feature Intel Iris Xe graphics along with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The listings also mentioned an “improved HD camera performance” as the original Surface Laptop Go came with a 720p webcam. The upcoming laptop might also not support Windows Hello facial recognition. The specifications of the new one are yet to be confirmed by Microsoft.
The Surface Laptop Go 2 is also expected to feature USB-A, USB-C, Surface Connect ports and a headphone jack. The fingerprint reader will be available only on select models. Moreover, like its predecessor, the upcoming laptop might be one of the very few Surface devices that don’t support Windows Hello in its base model.
