Microsoft is making big moves when it comes to offering cloud-based services like Windows 365 and Xbox Cloud gaming, etc. Taking a step further, the company announced the Dev Box earlier this year and now, it is allowing developers to get an early preview of its cloud-based workstations, according to The Verge’s report.

Microsoft is making big moves when it comes to offering cloud-based services like Windows 365 and Xbox Cloud gaming, etc. Taking a step further, the company announced the Dev Box earlier this year and now, it is allowing developers to get an early preview of its cloud-based workstations, according to The Verge’s report.
According to the report, the Microsoft Dev Box cloud-powered workstations are managed by Windows 365 and developers can now access the Azure Virtual Desktop systems from anywhere in the world using a compatible web browser.
The cloud-based workstations currently come with the option to test applications and it also includes apps and services designed for developers that run on pre-configured workstations.
Apart from that, the report also confirmed that the Microsoft Dev Box will also support Integrated Development Environment, Software Development Kit (SDK) and other Windows-compatible tools.
Microsoft is currently offering developers the option to configure the Dev Box with up to eight virtual CPUs and 32GB RAM. The Microsoft Dev Box, however, will support up to 32 virtual CPUs along with 128GB of RAM. Also, the systems will be connected to gigabit connection speeds.
The company is also offering 15 hours of trial period for businesses per month along with the first 365 hours of a 512GB storage SKU. The company has also created a separate portal to organise Dev Boxes.
