Microsoft has been focusing a lot on their budget-friendly line of laptops known as Surface Go. These laptops provide the user with a smaller factor and all the top of the line features they need to seemingly pull off any task they come across. It seems like Microsoft is gearing up to release the latest instalment to this series of laptops.

According to a report by Windows Central, this upcoming instalment will be dubbed as Surface Go 2. Sources have reported that this product is being worked under the codename ‘Zuma’, and it should be ready for shipping in the first half of 2022, which many believe to be in the month of June.

As of now, Microsoft has not officially announced or even mentioned anything about their upcoming project, so this information should be taken with a grain of salt. But, if the information from sources is correct and it is going to be release in the first half of 2022 then, interested individuals should mark their calendars for a possible June release.

As far as the specs go, it seems the core processor will be upgrade to Intel i5, along with that the base storage and RAM will also be upgraded. The RAM will be upgraded to 8GB from 4GB and the minimum storage option for the Surface Go 2 will be bumped up to 128GB from 64GB.

One of the upgrades the users are really looking forward to is a backlit keyboard, as this was not included in the previous generation. The first generation of the Surface Go series received many complaints about not having a backlit keyboard, making it harder to work in dimmer and lower light areas.

As far as the design for the model goes, according to report by Windows Central, it is going to be exactly the same, with just one new change and that is an all new colour. The new colour that they are going forward has been named ‘Sage’. It is still not clear which colour will they actually use for the ‘Sage’ name.
