Microsoft launched the Windows 11 operating system a few months ago. All Windows 10 users are eligible for a free upgrade to the new OS through the system upgrade feature but not everyone has the required hardware specs. Many such users have installed Windows 11 through third-party installers. You can also install the latest OS by making simple modifications to Registry. To warn those who are using Windows 11 on an unsupported PC, the tech giant was testing a watermark for the desktop. Now a report by WindowsLatest suggests that Microsoft has approved it for the production devices (RTM).
As per the report, the latest optional update of Windows 11 comes with the desktop watermark that warns users of unsupported PCs. The update is currently available in the Release Preview Channel. According to the screenshot shared with the report, the watermark is visible at the bottom left corner of the screen. “System requirements not met. Go to Settings to learn more” the watermark reads.
The company has also updated the Settings app to show a warning if the system requirements are not met. The warning comes with a link to support documentation on Microsoft’s website. It is worth noting that the watermark is only visible on the desktop and it does not have an impact on apps on the PC.
Microsoft is also reportedly planning to roll out wallpaper stickers for Windows 11 users. The stickers are said to provide users a new way to personalise PCs as per their liking. As per Twitter user Albacore, the option to add or change the desktop stickers can be found in the Settings app. Users can pick from numerous stickers offered by the company. The video also shows that once you click on the sticker, you will be able to move around the desktop and resize it as per your choice. The sticker will stay on the desktop even when you change the wallpaper. So, if you want to remove the sticker, you have to do it manually.
