“We continue to see healthy demand across our commercial businesses including another quarter of solid bookings as we deliver compelling value for customers,” said Amy Hood, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Microsoft in a press release.
Further, Microsoft said that server products and cloud services revenue increased 22%, which was driven by Azure.
Otherwise, Microsoft’s quarterly revenue stood at $50.1 billion, showing 11% growth year-on-year.
“In a world facing increasing headwinds, digital technology is the ultimate tailwind,” said Satya Nadella, chairman and chief executive officer of Microsoft. “In this environment, we’re focused on helping our customers do more with less, while investing in secular growth areas and managing our cost structure in a disciplined way.”
On the cloud business, Nadella during the earnings call said, “Moving to the cloud is the best way for organisations to do more with less today. It helps them align their spend with demand and mitigate risk around increasing energy costs and supply chain constraints.”
There has been a drop in the PC shipments market globally but Microsoft that Windows continues to see usage growth. “In our consumer business, PC market demand further deteriorated in September, which impacted our Windows OEM and Surface businesses,” said Hood.
